The World of Endarith
A Brief Summary
The gods are dead. Long live the gods.
No one quite remembers when it happened, or how. It’s been like this as long as anyone can remember. The land is dying. Desert slowly spread across the world. The gods are dead, or have forsaken us. All we have are the elements, and even they are fickle things. Holy, arcane, the magical arts have become all but non-existent. Raw magic has been purged from the world. But there is an exception.
Kalak. The Sorcerer-King. The only man still capable of outright magical divination and he uses it to maintain an iron-fisted rule over us all. Some even say that he himself may be a god for all the power he wields. Sure, there are those who have revolted and resisted, like Tyr. But they are few and far between and every day Kalak pushes to regain his control.
There are other exceptions, children who appear to have been blessed by the arcane or holy arts. But as soon as their talents are made known, Kalak delivers swift and furious judgement upon them to ensure his reign goes unchallenged.
